Chennai: The 2G spectrum scam is all set to take the election campaign in Tamil Nadu to a new bandwidth. While the opposition is calling it unprecedented corruption, DMK chief Karunanidhi is all set to project Raja as a hero of the people.
The DMK chief is firmly backing his blue eyed boy, A Raja, who's now in CBI custody in connection with the 2G spectrum scam.
The DMK says Mr Raja, a massively popular Dalit leader, will remain Propaganda Secretary, a powerful position.
"The only wrong Raja committed was making mobile phones affordable to millions of poor people. Raja is in jail, I appreciate him on their behalf," DMK chief M Karunanidhi said.

The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report may have damned Raja but Karunanidhi's strategy is clear. He's going to showcase Raja as a hero in the upcoming election campaign.
DMK sources say the spectrum scam will dent the DMK's vote bank in cities and Karunanidhi's job is to keep his rural votes intact using Raja's mobile mantra.
After his arrest on Wednesday, party sources said that the corruption charges against Mr Raja were unlikely to matter much to rural voters, who are not interested in the 2G scam.
